From the Lake to the Peaks
Though we’ve been here just barely more than a week (and it’s rained for more than half of that!), we’ve gotten a bit of good exploring in ahead of our work start date tomorrow, August 9th.
Vevey | a sweet town along Lake Geneva which we explored while our friend Eric took his son to a dentist appointment. Looking forward to checking out their Saturday farmer’s markets and summer wine festival in the coming weekends.
Berneuse | our home mountain, accessible by a rather steep hike or a lovely gondola ride. Obi is still getting use to the gondola experience; Shona is still getting used to trusting him not to go careering off a cliffside while we’re on the mountaintop!
Allalinhorn | Freddy’s first mountaineering experience (Shona stayed home for this one)! A drive to Sassfey, two ski lifts and an underground mountain train ride later, he and Eric clambered up a glacier to get Freddy’s first Matterhorn view.
