Buellton + Solvang, CA
BUELLTON | ancestral Chumash land
Driving the 101 through this part of California, you’ll inevitably run into signs for Anderson’s Pea Soup in Buellton, California. While we can’t comment on the merits of the town’s historic green soup, there is one restaurant just down the road that comes highly recommended.
Eat: Industrial Eats (order anything off their butcher paper menu, you won’t be disappointed / bonus, no corkage fees for bringing your own beverages to accompany their farm-to-table pizzas and other shareable plates)
SOLVANG | ancestral Chumash land
Solvang is a funky tourist-filled town home to Danish immigrants, featuring fairytale-esque architecture, kitchy shops and a few hidden culinary + artisanal gems. The farmer’s market on Wednesdays is an added bonus if you’re in town midweek.
Eat: Peasant’s Feast (affordable, delectable rustic fare / don’t hesitate to try the mushrooms + potatoes!)
Eat: Ramen Kotori (thoughtfully sourced seafood makes this ramen joint extra special in the midst of a european fantasy village)
Drink: Good Seed Coffee
Visit: The Book Loft (gotta love a mom-and-pop bookshop that’s been around for more than half a century)
