3 years of Obi

The last weekend of November, we celebrated three years of having Obi as part of our family unit by heading to one of his favorite local beaches down by a castle near Montreux.

Though his days of swimming year round were left behind in California, we were glad to sneak this last swim in before the arrival of heavy snowfall. There’s really nothing much he loves more than playing with a stick in the waves.

That said, he seems to be growing quite affectionate for the snow as it has taken over his new hometown. Recently, we’ve taken up bringing a small soccer ball out on long walks between snowbanks on the icy roads and trails, watching him slip and slide down the hill after it with glee. He’s slowly adapting to the feeling of ice between his paws, and loves to roll around in the fresh powder.

As we’d hoped, the colder temperatures have him growing increasingly snugglier, and we often find him snoozing in our bed when we come home from work. The two sheepskin rugs we bought are his favorite place to spend the evening, stretching out on his belly or playing ball with himself while we make dinner.

Honestly, this move wouldn’t have been possible without him. His companionship makes all the difference, and encourages us to make all the best decisions: longer walks, time outside, shared snack time, time by the lake, cozy evenings and relaxed mornings.

With lots of extra love to all of Obi’s loved ones near and far! Thanks for being part of his crew.

Love from Leysin,
sbmc
